About us

We are a team of expert professionals in different areas of health whose objective is to know the socio-sanitary needs of the migrant population to promote an adequate and effective socio-cultural therapeutic approach.

Paula Cristóbal Narváez. Biologist and Psychologist. Master in Neuroscience at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). PhD in Clinical and Health Psychology at the UAB. Juan de la Cierva post-doctoral researcher at the Sant Joan de Déu Health Park.

Josep Maria Haro Abad. Psychiatrist and Doctor of Public Health. Director of the Research Department of the Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu. Coordinator of the European project Roadmap for mental health and wellbeing research in Europe (ROAMER). Principal investigator in the European project on aging COllaborative Research on AGEing in Europe (COURAGE). Group leader of the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Aging (EIP AHA).

Yolanda Osorio López. Psychiatrist and founder, along with other professionals, of the SATMI program aimed at the population with mental health problems derived from the migratory process in the Barcelona area. Professor in the postgraduate course on migration and mental health at the University of Barcelona (Llars Mundet) and professor of psychiatry at the Catholic University of Beira de Medicina, Mozambique.

Amanda Lloret Pineda. Official psychologist and social worker (MSW, LSW) of the state of Pennsylvania (USA). Master in Clinical Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania (USA). Postgraduate in Clinical, Developmental and Attachment Psychology from the University of Girona.

Ivet Bayés Marín. Psychologist with a mention in Clinical and Health Psychology from the University of Barcelona (UB), Master in General Health Psychology (UB), Community Mediator, PhD in Medicine and Translational Research from the UB. Pre-doctoral researcher at the Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu.

Mª Carmen Alós Belenguer. Researcher at the Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu. Master in International Cooperation from the UV, Bachelor of Environmental Sciences from the UPV. Expert in development of social and gender projects in Spain, India and Latin America.

Óscar Álvarez Bobo. Medical Specialist in General Psychiatry and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrist (United Kingdom). Family and Community Medicine Specialist. He is currently working in the SATMI program and in the Numància HD (Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu).

Lola Aparicio Pareja. Clinical Psychologist, specialized in mental health in contexts of migration, identity and adolescence. She has been working in the SATMI program for mental health care for immigrants belonging to the Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu since 2001.

Mercedes Espinal Cabeza. Graduated in Social and Cultural Anthropology at the UAB. Diploma in Nursing at the UB. She is currently a nurse in the SATMI program. Teacher in multiple courses and Postgraduate Nursing in intercultural contexts.

Andrea de la Garza Puentes. Bachelor of Nutrition and Integral Well-being. Master in Nutrition and Metabolism and Doctor in Nutrition and Food Sciences from the University of Barcelona.

Rachid El Hafi Elmokhtari. Graduated in Organic Chemistry from the Mohamed Primero University (Morocco). Master in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Barcelona. Extension of training in chemistry with doctoral courses and pharmaceutical chemistry practices at the University of Barcelona. At a social level, qualified in Social Education, and licensed by the Barcelona College of Educators (CEESC). Expansion of their training with courses and training in reference to the social field and discrimination. He currently works in a reception center.

Yuelu He. Graduated in Hispanic Philology. Master in Sociology and PhD in Sociology from the University of Barcelona.

Shazra Javed. Graduated in Chemistry at the University of Barcelona. Interpreter of Urdú at the Red Cross and Promoter of activities at Casa Asia.

Fajar Matloob Ahmed Butt. Medicine student at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), advanced degree in oral hygiene, intercultural mediator and researcher of the Migrasalud project.  

Blanca Mellor Marsá. Doctorate in Medicine and Surgery. Master in Research Methodology in Behavioral and Health Sciences at the Autonomous University of Madrid.

Wafae Moussaoui. Graduated in Psychology at the University of Barcelona. Studying Master in Social Intervention at the University of Barcelona.

Sergio Salinas González. Graduated in Arab and Islamic studies at the University of Salamanca. Master in Culture of Peace, Conflicts, Education and Human Rights at the University of Granada.

Albert Sánchez Niubò. Statistical. Doctor in Biostatistics from the University of Barcelona. Post-doctoral researcher at the Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu.

Iris Schiller González. Graduated in Psychology at the Autonomous University of Madrid. Postgraduate in Chinese Language and Culture at Zheda University.

Felipe Villalobos Martínez. General practitioner. Master in Dietetics and Human Nutrition from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Doctor in Nutrition and Metabolism from the Universitat Rovira i Virgili.
